Cicely Taylor believes that a joyful and academically excellent education is a fundamental right for every child and family. A resident of Katy, Texas, for over 18 years, Cicely is a wife, mother of 2 Katy ISD graduates, lifelong educator, and candidate for the Katy ISD School Board of Trustees, Position 3. She wants to ensure our schools remain places where students thrive, and educators choose to stay.
Cicely will bring a rare and powerful perspective to the Board, with over 25 years of experience spanning the for-profit and non-profit education sectors. Her "educator’s heart" was formed in the classroom as a Teach For America corps member and later in early childhood education.
Today, she is a highly strategic education administrator and organizational linchpin. Having served as Chief of Staff at KIPP Texas Public Schools and currently as Chief of Staff at Acelero, Inc., Cicely serves as a strategic thought partner to executive leaders. Her expertise lies in executing complex, cross-functional priorities and driving large-scale change, ensuring organizational effectiveness through rigorous strategic planning and board governance.
Cicely’s platform centers on the belief that a free, joyful, and academically excellent education is a fundamental right. She is committed to fostering a safe, supportive environment where student-centered policies nurture both joy and academic rigor—ensuring every child is prepared for college and career readiness across all paths, from the military to the workforce. Recognizing that student success is impossible without staff stability, she will prioritize identifying fiscally responsible, innovative, and sustainable solutions to improve retention and recruitment among teachers and support staff.
